Its the season of grass, tree and flower pollens, if you're an unfortunate sufferer of itchy eyes, a streaming nose, sore throat and feeling absolutely exhausted then these herbs can help strengthen and support resistance. These herbs have anti-allergenic properties and have a tonic effect on the whole body system. Lowering or cutting out dairy, gluten, alcohol, sugary and starchy foods and replacing these with fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables and juices and adding Vitamin C acts as a natural antihistamine, try Amla powder also known as Indian Gooseberry as a rich easily assimilated organic source.

  • Elderflowers, help to strengthen resistance, protecting irritated mucous membrane
  • Nettle, strengthens, nourishes and supports the whole body.
  • Ribwort Plantain, an expectorant and demulcent soothing inflamed sore membrane. Take these three herbs fresh or dried as a tea singular or as a combination.
  • Garlic, immune boosting and an expectorant, add to your daily diet fresh and raw if possible or in a supplement
  • Eyebright, for when the eyes are sore, itchy and red prepare as a tea and use as compress on the eyes.
