Daily Tonic vs. Acute Protocol

The Wilder Immunity Ritual works in two modes. Both are essential. Most people use only one. The first 24–48 hours of an infection are often when intervention matters most. Continue the acute protocol for 48–72 hours, or until symptoms have fully resolved. Keep Winter Love Drops on hand before you need them.

From late summer through to spring

Daily Tonic Protocol
  1. Morning: 30 drops of Botanical Saviour Drops (Echinacea, Astragalus, Calendula)
  2. Daily: 1 cup of Solstice Tea for seasonal immune support or 1 cup of Sunrise Tea for antioxidant defence
  3. Evening: A warm bath 2–3 times per week

The body fights infection best when it is well-rested, nourished and supported consistently.

At the first sign of illness

Acute Protocol
  1. Replace Botanical Saviour Drops with Winter Love Drops (Echinacea, Thyme, Propolis)
  2. Take 30 drops in warm water, 4 times daily
  3. Drink 3–4 cups of Solstice Tea daily
  4. Increase water intake
  5. Prioritise 8–9 hours of sleep

Remove alcohol, sugar, late nights, gym sessions and anything that diverts energy away from recovery.

Your questions, answered

Can I take Botanical Saviour Drops year-round?

We recommend a one-week break each month, and a 2 to 4-week break each spring. Most herbs are best cycled rather than taken continuously.

Are these safe alongside conventional medication?

Echinacea, Astragalus and some other immune herbs may interact with immunosuppressants and certain other medications. Always consult your prescribing doctor.

Suitable in pregnancy?

Echinacea is generally acceptable in pregnancy; Thyme essential oil internally is not. Please consult your midwife or a qualified herbalist.

When should I see a doctor?

A fever above 39°C, breathing difficulty, severe sore throat with swallowing difficulty, symptoms lasting more than 10 days, or any unusual or concerning sign.

Can children take immune drops?

Botanical Saviour Drops and Winter Love Drops are suitable for children over 12 at half the adult dose. Under 12, please consult a qualified herbalist.

Signs Your Immunity Could Use Support

There are two distinct presentations Rachel sees in clinic. Tonic depletion: catching every cold that goes around the house, colds that linger for weeks, slow wound healing, frequent low-level infections (recurrent UTIs, cold sores, oral ulcers), persistent fatigue, the feeling that the body is running on empty. Acute moments: the first scratch of a sore throat, the body feels off, a close contact has just gone down with something, the seasonal change is happening, you are travelling tomorrow. Different presentations need different interventions, and the Wilder Immunity Ritual addresses both.

The Naturopathic View on Immunity

Naturopathic immune support has three main pillars, and most protocols make the mistake of using only one. Tonic herbs (Astragalus, Reishi, Holy Basil, Siberian Ginseng) build long-term resilience and are taken daily through the months that precede cold and flu season. Acute herbs (Echinacea, Elderberry, Thyme, Propolis) respond to active infection and are deployed in the first 24 to 48 hours when symptoms begin. Foundational support (sleep, nutrition, sunlight, gentle movement, stress management) is the unsexy backbone of every protocol. Skip the foundations and the herbs cannot do their job.

What to Expect Across the Seasons

In late summer and early autumn, begin the daily tonic protocol. The body builds resilience over weeks, not days; start before the season begins. Through autumn and winter, continue the daily tonic, switching to the acute protocol at the first sign of any infection. By spring, reduce or pause the tonic protocol; an optional gentle cleanse supports the body's seasonal transition. Through summer, the tonic protocol is generally unnecessary; focus on sunlight, sleep and seasonal foods instead.

Beyond the Products: Foundational Habits

Sleep is the single most important immune intervention; under six hours per night doubles your risk of catching a cold. Sunlight: vitamin D is immune-modulating, twenty minutes of skin-on-sunlight daily, year-round where possible. Stress: chronic stress suppresses immune function, so the Wilder Stress Ritual is a perfectly valid immune intervention. Food: colourful plants, fermented foods, adequate protein, minimal ultra-processed food, with garlic, ginger and broths through winter.
